Staff Terms of Use and Code of Conduct
Updated September 27, 2026 · MBERG LLC · info@mberg.group
These terms apply to people who use the MBERG Staff app to do doorstep trash routes for MBERG LLC ("MBERG"), and to MBERG's manager account. If you signed a separate independent contractor agreement with MBERG and it conflicts with these terms, that agreement controls.
1. Your account and photo
Sign in only with the login and password your manager gave you. Never share your password or let anyone use your account; if you think someone knows it, ask your manager for a new one. Staff and resident accounts are separate.
You must add a clear, current selfie to your account: your face only, looking at the camera, in good light, with no sunglasses, mask or hat. MBERG uses it to confirm who is working and shares it with the property where you work. You can't claim or start routes until it's approved.
2. Independent contractor
You work as an independent contractor, not an employee. You choose whether, when and which routes to claim, you can turn any route down, and you can work for others, including other companies. MBERG sets the service standard (the pickup rules, photos, safety rules and what each property requires) and the payout for each route, shown before you claim it.
You're responsible for your own taxes and for your phone and transportation. Payouts go through Stripe, which collects your tax details (Form W-9); MBERG never stores your Social Security number. MBERG files Form 1099 when the law requires it.
3. Routes, cancellations and reliability
A route is a set of floors at one building, 7–9 PM on a pickup night. You can hold one route per night. Once you claim a route, you've agreed to do it.
You can drop a route for free until 24 hours before it starts; after that, dropping is a late cancel. On the night, tap "I'm on my way" after 5:00 PM. If you haven't checked in by 6:45 PM, the route is given to someone else and counts as a no-show. A route that isn't started by 8:30 PM is missed.
The app keeps your reliability (completed routes versus late cancels and no-shows over 30 days) and points (+10 per route, +5 for harder routes, −15 for a late cancel, −30 for a no-show). Preferred contractors (15+ routes in 30 days and 95%+ reliability) see new routes first. Two no-shows in 30 days pause your ability to claim routes until your manager lifts it. Nobody is fined for turning a route down.
4. Pay
You earn the payout shown when you claimed the route. Unclaimed routes pay more as the night gets closer. Keyholders earn a keyholder bonus per route at their fob building, and in weeks with no late cancels, no-shows or rejected (unpaid) routes you earn a reliability bonus per route that grows with clean weeks in a row.
Routes with warning signs (for example taps too fast to be real, or taps away from the building) are reviewed by your manager, who can lower or withhold pay only for work that wasn't done to the standard. Pay is sent weekly, for Monday–Sunday.
5. Building access and keys
Keep door codes private: the app shows them only on site during your route. Never prop open or disable a door, gate or fire door, and never let anyone follow you in.
A fob is issued in your name only after an approved selfie, a background check and a record of completed routes. A deposit (currently $50) is taken from your pay when you get a fob and returned when you give it back. Never copy or lend a fob. Report a lost or stolen fob in the app within 2 hours; if it isn't returned, the deposit is kept. Return every fob when you stop working at that building, and before you delete your account.
6. Location and work records
The app records your GPS location when you start and end a route and on every pickup tap, only while a route is running. Route times, taps, photos and locations are used for pay, quality checks and disputes, and your manager can see them. Don't start a route away from the site.
7. Residents' privacy
Photograph only the bin and bag area, never people, and inside an apartment only the area you serviced. Never open, search or take anything from a bag or bin, and never read or photograph mail or labels. Items residents hand over for oversized pickup belong to MBERG. Use resident names, units and phone numbers only for the job; don't save them or contact residents personally.
8. Conduct and safety
Wear your MBERG vest or shirt and ID on site. No alcohol, drugs, smoking or vaping, guests or use of amenities on the property. Don't argue with residents; refer them to info@mberg.group. Never climb or reach into a compactor, chute or dumpster, clear a jam or bypass a safety switch. Refuse bins that break the rules and move a bin that blocks an exit only if it's safe. Leave nothing in hallways or stairwells.
9. Emergencies and incidents
Call 911 in an emergency first. Report any injury, fire, police response, damage, spill you can't clean, or confrontation in the app or by email to info@mberg.group the same night.
10. Background screening
Before you enter any apartment (for example, a cleaning) or get a fob, you must pass a background check done by a screening company with your written consent.
11. Manager account
The manager account can see resident, payment and contractor information. It's used only to run MBERG's business. Keep devices locked and use "Log out all other devices" if a device is lost.
12. Ending access and changes
You can delete your account in the app at any time (return any fobs first). MBERG can turn off an account for safety reasons, repeated no-shows, misuse of access, or a breach of these terms. MBERG may update these terms and will ask you to accept again. Florida law governs these terms.
